On this celebratory evening Maestro Pinchas Zukerman leads Beethoven’s grandest symphony. This transcendent creation nobly embodies the composer’s ideals: triumph over adversity on the journey from conflict to harmony. The poetry of Schiller’s “Ode to Joy” in the finale exults in a world united in brotherhood—in the presence of a loving Father who dwells beyond the stars—while the music’s majesty and euphoria enfold us in a sublime embrace.

Opening the concert is Mozart’s graceful style gallant “Coronation” Concerto, with Canadian pianist and wunderkind Jan Lisiecki as soloist.
