ARTIST MENTORSHIP PROGRAM INDUSTRY SHOWCASE 2023

This June, Black Theatre Workshop (BTW) presents their annual Artist Mentorship Program Industry Showcase, in partnership with NAC English Theatre.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, and second year with a national cohort, the Artist Mentorship Program has been an integral part of BTW’s yearly programming. This season the program features nine Black emerging artists across all theatrical disciplines (actors, directors, theatre creators, designers, playwrights), placing them under the guidance and leadership of program managers Warona Setshwaelo and Mariah Inger. Mentorship sessions and workshops have taken place throughout the year, culminating in this on-stage program showcase.

This year’s ensemble is an eclectic group of Black emerging theatre artists who demonstrate talent, skill, and potential in their respective disciplines!

We are ecstatic to introduce the AMP 2022-2023 Ensemble. Over the course of the current season, they have worked alongside some of Canada’s most sought-after theatre professionals, leading up to the popular Industry Showcase.

The Artist Mentorship Program is honoured to be the last presentation of BTW's co-curatorship with NAC English Theatre.

Please note that this performance includes a segment with volunteer audience participation. Only audience members who wish to participate will be included. Please note that audience members who appear on stage will be captured on our June 23 livestream feed and appear in the recorded performance.
