Pat Labarbera is known internationally for his years on tour with the Buddy Rich Big Band, and Elvin Jones' Jazz Machine. He also performed with the big bands of Count Basie, Woody Herman, and Louie Bellson. He has worked and recorded with musicians such as Chet Baker, McCoy Tyner and Dizzy Gillespie; performed at major international jazz festivals and jazz clubs; appeared in numerous radio and television shows and film documentaries; and recorded over 100 albums. Pat is also an excellent and highly respected educator. A faculty member of Humber College in Toronto since 1976, Pat teaches advanced jazz improvisation and repertoire, leads various student jazz ensembles and instructs private woodwind students. Rejoining Elvin Jones' Jazz Machine in January 2001 for two years, Pat performed and toured North America, Britain, Europe, and Japan. Presently, he continues to write and perform with his own trio and quartet. Pat's latest CD Crossing The Line was recorded at the Top O'The Senator jazz club in Toronto. It features Brian Dickinson, Neil Swainson, Joe LaBarbera, and special guest, Randy Brecker.

Josh Rager is a pianist, arranger, composer, and teacher based in Montreal, Canada. Throughout his 10 year career he has performed extensively in Japan, Europe and North America. In 2005 he was nominated for the Prix du Festival at the Montreal International Jazz festival. In 2007 he played at Carnegie Hall with Nikky Yanofsky appearing also on her debut Juno nominated DVD/CD Ella...I swing of thee. In 2009 he received a commission from The European Broadcasting Union to compose a jazz suite for two pianos entitled Menuet and Duo which was recorded by CBC at its premiere in Montreal at Pollack Hall and broadcast internationally. Some of the names that Josh has performed and/or recorded with include: Ingrid Jensen, Walt Weiskopf, Donny McCaslin, Joe Morrello, Kevin Dean, Rane Lee, and Dawn Tyler Watson. His most recent recording, entitled Kananaskis features Dave Watts on bass and John Fraboni on the drums;  the music is an exciting mix of originals and well known covers including a reworking of the Beachboys rock ballad God Only Knows.

Drummer Nick Fraser has been an active and engaging presence in the Toronto new jazz and improvised music community since he moved there from Ottawa in 1996. His recorded works include Owls in Daylight (1997) and Nick Fraser and Justin Haynes are faking it (2004). Nick has performed professionally with a veritable "who's who" of Canadian jazz and improvised music, in addition to such international artists as William Parker, Anthony Braxton and David Binney. He co-leads the quintet Drumheller with Brodie West, Rob Clutton, Eric Chenaux and Doug Tielli who have released three CDs on the Rat-Drifting label. Nick is a founding member of The Association of Improvising Musicians, Toronto.
