Originally from Mexico City, Carlos Alberto is a talented jazz pianist based in Ottawa, Canada. As a composer he has created a fresh style by incorporating elements from classic and contemporary Latin and North American music. He studied jazz in Mexico with the renowned Juan José Calatayud and in Montreal with Professor Jan Jarczyk.

The Jazz Trio was created in early 2013 with Angel Araos (drums), a Chilean-born percussionist whose career has spanned classical, jazz, folk, Brazilian and Cuban music, and Daniel Chavolla who studied percussion and double bass at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City.

The repertoire includes Latin Jazz/Fusion originals as well as interpretations on songs from Latin and North American composers.  The trio is currently recording its first CD, to be released by late 2015.

For this presentation the trio has two special guests: Alvaro de Minaya (Percussions) and Jasmin Lalande (Sax and Flute).
