Approximately 2 hours 20 minutes including intermission.

  • Brahms Nänie
  • Schumann Piano Concerto
  • Brahms A German Requiem

Pianist Jan Lisiecki replaces Alice Sara Ott as soloist in the Schumann piano concerto  with the NAC Orchestra.

Upon returning home after a hugely successful recital in Munich, Alice unfortunately stumbled on the stairs and hurt her hand. She has therefore had to cancel several forthcoming engagements in order to heal and rest.

We are grateful that Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki will return to the NAC to step in on short notice.  Jan has recently released a recording of the Schumann concerto, to great acclaim.  This will be his first collaboration with conductor Alexander Shelley.

The Friends of the NAC Orchestra is pleased to hold a spectacular silent auction in the main foyer of the NAC in conjunction with this NAC Orchestra concert. Bid on outstanding and unique donated items from across Canada and from around the world. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the NAC Orchestra’s commitment to music education programs for young people. Help us build a fantastic future for music in Canada!
