Revolutionary choreographer Hofesh Shechter returns to the NAC to present his first full-length work. A monumental contemporary piece possessing the atmosphere of a heart-pounding rock show, Political Mother’s massive cast features 11 highly athletic dancers and a live band of seven musicians. The iconic, stamping, folk-influenced choreography is set to an explosive score composed by Shechter, himself a former rock musician. The bold movement and pulsating music fuel a complex exploration of oppression, survival, and existence.
NAC Dance presents a Master class with Artists from Hofesh Shechter Company:
This workshop will be based on Shechter’s distinctive and urban choreography. Led by members of the Company; Frédéric Despierre, Edouard Hue and Merel Lammers.
