Ken Dryden made his debut with the Montreal Canadiens in 1970‐71. After seven years as the last line of defense on one of the greatest hockey dynasties, Ken Dryden retired following the 1978‐79 season. He has won a Calder Trophy, a Conn Smythe Trophy, five Vézinas and six Stanley Cup Championships, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Returning to hockey in 1997, Dryden became President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, a position held until 2004. Leaving the hockey rink for politics, Dryden was elected to the Canadian Parliament in 2004 representing the Toronto-area riding of York Centre until 2011. Dryden has taught for the last several years at McGill, Calgary, Saskatchewan and Ryerson universities. He is the creator and host of We are Canada, a six-part series to air on CBC and Radio-Canada this year. Ken Dryden was recently named one of the 100 greatest players in the National Hockey League’s history.
