SARAH SLEAN

Three-time Juno nominee and modern-day Renaissance woman Sarah Slean has released 11 albums in over 10 countries worldwide. Over her 20-year career, Slean has published two volumes of poetry, starred in short films and a movie musical (spawning two Gemini Award nominations), penned two string quartets, held numerous exhibitions of her paintings, and shared the stage with 10 of the country’s professional orchestras.

A veteran pop artist with a long list of classical collaborations under her belt, Sarah Slean will be accompanied by orchestral expansions of her own string arrangements, and newly commissioned orchestrations by dynamic up-and-coming composers. This show will draw on her 20 year catalogue of songs, rich with her signature theatricality and emotional power. 

LYNN MILES

Lynn Miles is one of Canada’s most accomplished singer/songwriters. With thirteen solo albums to her credit, the winner of the 2002 Juno award for Roots and Traditional Solo Album of the Year and multiple Canadian Folk Music awards including “Solo Artist of The Year” for her CD “Downpour” and 2011 “English Songwriter of the Year”.

Her song “Black Flowers” is on the 2017 Grammy Nominated “North By South” album by Claire Lynch. Her song “Three Chords and the Truth” is include in the BBC TV show “Case Histories”

Lynn was an instructor in Carleton University’s popular music program for five years, teaching performance and songwriting.  She recently performed an evening of her music at the National Arts Centre with the NAC Orchestra and is currently working on a new album.
