NAC Dance Student Matinees

Welcome teachers and students! Welcome to those who are devotees and those who are new to the art form.

Each season, we are thrilled to offer an open dress rehearsal of the holiday favourite Nutcracker especially for a student audience. This year, Nutcracker and is performed by Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet and—as always—accompanied by the wonderful National Arts Centre Orchestra! The dress rehearsal is open to all ages. The company returns in April for their dramatic Dracula, with a dress rehearsal open to students in Grade 7 and higher.

Experience the richness of Life in Motion. A world of Dance in Ottawa.

  1. Grades 7+

    • Apr 12, 2018, 12:00pm (bilingual)

Featuring the National Arts Centre Orchestra
    Choreography by Mark Godden

Atmospheric and brooding, Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s deliciously gothic Dracula lives up to the rich history of its famous source material with its smouldering eroticism, mysterious transformations, dancing gargoyles, and flying bats. Performed to the lush, evocative music of Gustav Mahler, Mark Godden’s inventive and sensual choreography breathes dramatic new life into the macabre yet irresistible tale of the immortal vampire and his dark passions.

Dracula has thrilled, terrified and delighted audiences since its premiere in 1998, becoming a treasured favorite in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s repertoire.

Please note: This is a dress rehearsal. Stops and starts may occur during the show.
