After participating in music competitions and performing at major venues, Salomé Leclerc released her debut album, Sous les arbres, in 2011 on the Audiogram label, garnering enthusiastic reviews for her unique sound, originality, and sensitive performance style. She toured Quebec in 2011–12 and 2013 as part of a trio, and after receiving the 2012 Prix des diffuseurs européens (European Presenters’ Award) from SODEC/RIDEAU, she toured France in 2012 and 2013 following the release of her CD in France in September 2011 (on the Tôt ou Tard label). She was also nominated for a 2012 ADISQ award in the prestigious category “Discovery of the Year,” and received the André “Dédé” Fortin Award from the Société professionnelle des auteurs et des compositeurs du Québec (professional association of Quebec songwriters and composers). This impressive start confirmed Salomé Leclerc’s status as a rising star on Quebec’s music scene.
Having sold nearly 10,000 copies of her debut album and given some 100 performances across Quebec and in Europe, Salomé is back with a new release, 27 fois l’aurore, supported by a brand new show. She’ll be joined on stage by Ben Rocheleau (trombone and keyboards), Philippe Brault (bass), and José Major (drums), for a concert that’s sure to move and delight her many fans.
