Saint-Boniface and its francophone community invite you to celebrate the arrival of summer. Saint-Boniface Célèbre is a virtual concert for the whole family and returns for a second digital edition on Friday, June 25.
Watch three unique concerts by Johnny Cajun, Jocelyne Baribeau and Justin Lacroix, with Joanne Roberts, the official presenter.
Johnny Cajun is back this year in top form, with music characterized by killer rhythms, wild solos and catchy melodies. They will seduce you with their blend of Cajun and Zydeco stuffed with spicy surprises that will have you dancing like a crawfish in the bayou!
Jocelyne Baribeau's second alternative folk album offers us an honest and authentic look at the different faces of life. They are sometimes self-portraits, reflections gleaned from the mirror of human experience, or portraits that capture a defining moment or a person who colors the contours. Born of the need to step back from her own rich and complex life as an artist, mother, trainer and woman, Jocelyne has drawn on precious moments of isolation to create parcels of raw introspection, of unambiguous perspectives. In the course of significant encounters and inspiring stays in the Gaspé and the Rocky Mountains, she has drawn from the depths of herself her truth, raw and honest.
With her touching and pure voice, Jocelyne invites us to be carried away by her sparkling tunes and tender ballads. In a style with shades of contemporary folk and a touch of pop-country, her dynamic and animated presence is also tinged with intimacy and emotion. Jocelyne Baribeau's songs are thoughtful and honest. They reflect the heart of her being, a perfect blend of sweet and sour.
Justin Lacroix - Originally from Winnipeg, the singer-songwriter found his musical path by trading his childhood violin for a guitar. A bit of a philosopher and a lover of freedom, Justin observes the world around him and shapes it as he sees fit, with its sorrows and joys.
The artist travels between folk, roots and blues through catchy melodies and catchy grooves. Justin's songs combine tenderness and humor with heart and soul. They are as many doors open to his universe and remind us that, even without being perfect, life is beautiful.
