Cet été qui chantait (temporary title)
Welcome to a very special box filled with pictures. A box where you can hear the wind blow and smell the flowers growing everywhere; a box where you can see the sky ... Meet Gabrielle, who wonderingly observes all the life in her corner of the world. Hear her describe the meadow hay that dances in the breeze; tell you about the white and black birds that call at low tide; whisper to you about the fireflies that flicker at dusk.
Based on the novel of the same name, Cet été qui chantait is a gentle, highly visual show, very much in keeping with Gabrielle Roy’s writing. Marie-Ève Fontaine transposes the Franco-Manitoban author’s deeply poetic universe to a puppet theatre setting, and invites the audience on a sensory journey that will appeal to young and old alike.
