  Assistant principal viola David Goldblatt

  Violist David Goldblatt is a graduate of the Juilliard School, where he received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. His teachers have included James Dunham, Lillian Fuchs, William Lincer, and chamber music coaches from the Guarneri, Juilliard, Sequoia, and American string quartets. David has been a member of La Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia (Spain) and was the assistant principal violist of L’Orchestra Sinfonica Dell’Emilia Romagna (Italy) during the 1987 Toscanini International Conducting Competition. In New York, he performed with the New Jersey Symphony and the New York City Ballet Orchestra. Formerly the principal violist of the Hamilton Philharmonic, David joined the NAC Orchestra in 1996 as Assistant Principal Viola.

  L’altiste David Goldblatt a étudié à la Juilliard School, où il a obtenu son baccalauréat et sa maîtrise. Il a notamment été l’élève de James Dunham, de Lillian Fuchs, de William Lincer et de mentors en musique de chambre provenant des quatuors à cordes Guarneri, Juilliard, Sequoia et American String Quartet. Il a fait partie de l’orchestre symphonique de la Galice (Espagne) et a été premier alto adjoint de l’orchestre symphonique d’Émilie-Romagne (Italie) pendant le Concours international de chefs d’orchestre Arturo Toscanini de 1987. Il a aussi joué à New York avec l’orchestre symphonique du New Jersey et le New York City Ballet Orchestra. Ancien premier alto de l’orchestre philharmonique de Hamilton, David a joint les rangs de l’Orchestre du CNA en 1996 à titre de premier alto adjoint.

  violin Edvard Skerjanc

  Edvard Skerjanc started violin studies at age six, in Zagreb, Croatia, with Renata Senecic. He completed his violin studies at the Zagreb Academy with professor Martin Baric and later in Russia with Isaac Reider. In 1982, Mr. Skerjanc came to the United States to study with Leopold La Fosse. After playing in the "I Musici de Montreal" for several seasons, he became a member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in 1995. Throughout his career, Mr. Skerjanc has been interested in chamber music and has played in various chamber ensembles and made several recordings.

  Edvard Skerjanc a commencé à apprendre le violon à l’âge de six ans, à Zagreb, en Croatie, auprès de Renata Senecic. Il a terminé ses études en violon à l’Académie de Zagreb auprès du professeur Martin Baric, et par la suite en Russie avec Isaac Reider. En 1982, M. Skerjanc a émigré aux États-Unis pour étudier sous Leopold La Fosse. Après avoir fait partie de « I Musici de Montréal » pour plusieurs saisons, il est devenu membre de l’Orchestre du Centre national des Arts en 1995. Tout au long de sa carrière, M. Skerjanc s’est intéressé à la musique de chambre, a fait partie de divers ensembles de musique de chambre et a participé à de nombreux enregistrements.
