The National Arts Centre is partnering with Canadian Heritage’s virtual Canada Day celebrations in collaboration with partners and artists from across the country.

Don’t miss Canada Day Across the Country, the national daytime program featuring a performance by our very own National Arts Centre Orchestra at 1 p.m. on July 1.

Until then, find out more about the NAC’s Road to Canada Day, a part of our acclaimed #CanadaPerforms initiative, a national platform celebrating and profiling performing arts festivals from across Canada.

Finally, check out these fun Canada Day activities for the whole family:

Canada Moves:

Create your own Canada Day dance! Our fun “movement tool kit” for bodies of all abilities will provide gestures for each letter in C-A-N-A-D-A to string together into your own unique solo, duet or group dance. Download the music loop, record your dance and share on your social channels using #CanadaMoves.

O Canada Sing-Along with the NAC Orchestra:

Did you know this year marks the 40th anniversary of Canada’s national anthem? Record yourself singing O Canada with the NAC Orchestra and share it on your Twitter, Facebook or Instagram channel using #CanadaDay and #OhCanada. You can also tag your video with #OCanadaSings so we can see what you have created.

Anishinàbemowin (Algonquin) Words Colouring Pages

Created by NAC Indigenous Theatre Cultural Resident Mairi Brascoupé (Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg), these colouring pages with Anishinàbemowin (Algonquin) words are shared as a way to learn and share with one another. Print off the image and colour it in, or download for digital colouring. Share your completed version using #nishWOTD.

Canadian Theatre Puzzle Pages

Test your knowledge and learn something new about Canadian English-language theatre! Try your hand at our crossword puzzle or word search and discover a Canadian play that’s part of our history… and maybe your future!

A Continent to Explore (Sous la feuille)

Discover the nature around you with these activities inspired by Sous la feuille, a play by Ariane Voineau and Josué Beaucage. Create your own herbarium, pay a special attention to the noise of the animals and plants surrounding you and be ready to do some at-home camping!
