Dominique Fils-Aimé is a Polaris Music and JUNO prize-nominated singer-songwriter from
Montreal whose inspiration is drawn from soul icons of the 40’s and the 60’s such as Billie
Holiday, Etta James and Nina Simone.
Moving on from her 2018 debut full length blues-tinged “Nameless”—which boldly confronted
historical silences and sorrows—“Stay Tuned!” is both a call for and reminder of revolution
expressed with the fury of red-hot jazz. Wanting to break away from the standards of traditional
compositions, Dominique presents a body of work focused on liberating herself from musical
forms.
Fils-Aimé was chosen as Radio-Canada’s Jazz Revelation of 2019-2020 and her latest record won
the Félix prize for Jazz Album of the Year in Quebec at the 2019 ADISQ Gala and chosen among
the 19 best Canadian albums of 2019 according to CBC.
Following a series of sold out shows in Canada, France and at the Winter Jazz Festival in New
York, she will embark on a highly anticipated tour across Europe this summer.
