Ottawa guitarist Alex Moxon has been a familiar face in the Ottawa jazz scene for over a decade now. He has spent this time refining his voice as an improviser and composer while performing with a who's who of local and national talent. His May 27th concert at the NAC’s Fourth Stage will see the culmination of these efforts as he celebrates the launch of his debut album as a leader.
The nine-track album showcases Moxon’s original pieces. The music aims to take the listener on a journey, conjuring emotions that range from the profound and heartfelt to the mischievous and whimsical. It was recorded at Morning Anthem Studios in 2019.
The rhythm section that realizes the music on both the album and the concert features:
Steve Boudreau - piano
John Geggie – bass
Michel Delage - drums
The Alex Moxon Quartet aims to fascinate concertgoers with a musical tapestry brought to life by their deep chemistry and spirited playing.
