Miles Davis was one of the most important figures in jazz. His unique style of playing and composition, and his ability to bring out greatness in others provide lessons for us all.

In this program of cool and groovy music, featuring a sextet of musicians from the orchestra, we’ll explore the magical music of Miles Davis. The Ottawa Jazz Orchestra’s leader and basssist, Adrian Cho, will draw from his 2010 book, The Jazz Process: Collaboration, Innovation, and Agility, and talk about how the lessons we learn from Miles can be applied to almost any domain.

The Ottawa Jazz Orchestra brings together many of the capital city region’s finest jazz and symphony musicians to present highly entertaining and education presentations of jazz. For almost fifteen years the orchestra has delivered unique programmes covering the gamut of jazz, earning acclaim from audiences and critics alike. The core of the orchestra’s annual programming is its season of concerts at the National Arts Centre. This concert is part of the orchestra’s fourteenth season.
