  Conductor Jack Everly

  Jack Everly is the Principal Pops Conductor of the Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra.  He has conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, the San Francisco Symphony, and numerous appearances with The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center. Maestro Everly conducts over 90 performances in more than 22 North American cities every season.

  Celebrating his 10th anniversary as Music Director of the National Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol Fourth on PBS, Maestro Everly proudly leads the National Symphony Orchestra (USA) in these patriotic celebrations on the National Mall.  These concerts attract hundreds of thousands attendees on the lawn and the broadcasts reach millions of viewers and are some of the very highest rated programming on PBS television.

  Mr. Everly is the also Music Director of IPL Yuletide Celebration, now a 30+ year tradition. He led the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in its first Pops recording, Yuletide Celebration, Volume One, that included three of his own orchestrations, Some of his other recordings include In The Presence featuring the Czech Philharmonic and Daniel Rodriguez, Sandi Patty’s Broadway Stories, the soundtrack to Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Everything's Coming Up Roses: The Complete Overtures Of Jule Styne.

  Originally appointed by Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mr. Everly was conductor of the American Ballet Theatre for 14 years, where he served as Music Director. In addition to his ABT tenure, he teamed with Marvin Hamlisch on Broadway shows that Mr. Hamlisch scored.  He conducted Carol Channing hundreds of times in Hello, Dolly! in two separate Broadway productions.

  Maestro Everly, a graduate of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, is a recipient of the 2015 Indiana Historical Society Living Legends Award and holds an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Franklin College in his home state of Indiana. He is a proud resident of the Indianapolis community and when not on the podium you can find Maestro Everly at home with his family.

  Jack Everly est le premier chef des concerts Pops de l’Orchestre du CNA, des orchestres symphoniques d’Indianapolis et de Baltimore, ainsi que de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Naples en Floride. Il a dirigé l’Orchestre philharmonique de Los Angeles au Hollywood Bowl, le New York Pops à Carnegie Hall, la Symphonie de San Francisco et se produit régulièrement avec l’Orchestre de Cleveland au Blossom Music Center. À son calendrier chaque saison figurent au-delà de 90 représentations dans plus d’une vingtaine de villes d’Amérique du Nord.

  M. Everly est par ailleurs fier de célébrer dix ans à la direction du National Symphony Orchestra au National Mall à Washington à titre de directeur musical du National Memorial Day Concert et de l’événement A Capitol Fourth, deux célébrations diffusées au réseau PBS. Ces concerts en plein air attirent chaque année des centaines de milliers de personnes et sont suivis par des millions de téléspectateurs. Ils comptent parmi les programmes du réseau de télévision PBS qui récoltent les plus hautes cotes d’écoute.

  Le maestro Everly est également le directeur musical de la IPL Yuletide Celebration, une tradition maintenant vieille de plus de 30 ans. C’est lui qui était à la barre du tout premier album Pops de l’Orchestre symphonique d’Indianapolis, Yuletide Celebration, Volume 1, sur lequel on retrouve trois pièces qu’il a lui-même orchestrées. Parmi ses autres collaborations sur disque figurent In The Presence gravé avec l’Orchestre philharmonique de la République tchèque et Daniel Rodriguez, Broadway Stories de la chanteuse Sandi Patty, la trame sonore du Bossu de Notre-Dame de Disney, et Everything’s Coming Up Roses: The Complete Overtures Of Jule Styne.

  Il a dirigé par ailleurs pendant 14 ans l’American Ballet Theatre (ABT), dont il a été le directeur musical, nommé à ce poste par Mikhaïl Barychnikov. Pendant son mandat à l’ABT, il a collaboré avec Marvin Hamlisch à des spectacles de Broadway que ce dernier a mis en musique. Il a également dirigé Carol Channing dans des centaines de représentations de Hello, Dolly! au fil de deux productions distinctes de Broadway.

  Diplômé de la Jacobs School of Music de l’Université de l’Indiana, M. Everly a remporté en 2015 l’Indiana Historical Society Living Legends Award. Il a aussi reçu un doctorat honorifique en arts du Franklin College de son Indiana natal. Il est un fier résidant d’Indianapolis qui, en dehors de la scène, aime passer du bon temps à la maison avec sa famille.

  Season stage manager Tobi Hunt McCoy

  Tobi Hunt McCoy is enjoying another year as Season Stage Manager with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. In past seasons, she stage-managed Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Christopher Plummer in 2001 and Colm Feore in 2014. She co-produced the 1940s Pops show On the Air with Jack Everly for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, a show they co-produced in 2007 for the NAC Orchestra. 

  In 2018 McCoy made her Southam Hall acting debut in the role of Stage Manager in the Magic Circle Mime Co.’s production of Orchestra from Planet X. Additional professional duties have included aiding Susanna and the Countess in schooling the Count and Figaro on the finer points of marital love during The Marriage of Figaro, keeping her eyes open (for the first time ever) during the flying monkey scene in The Wizard of Oz, mistakenly asking Patrick Watson for proof of identity backstage, holding her breath while marvelling at the athletic ability of the cast during Cirque Goes Broadway, continuing to implement feedback on her British-Columbian French with the choruses of Ottawa, and cheering on Luke and Princess Leia with Charlie Ross, Émilie Fournier, and Eric Osner during the Star Wars Pops concert.

  In her spare time, McCoy is the Head of Arts, Drama, English, and Library at Lisgar Collegiate Institute.

  Tobi Hunt McCoy poursuit sa collaboration saisonnière avec l’Orchestre du CNA à titre de régisseuse. Lors des saisons précédentes, elle a notamment été à la régie pour Le Songe d’une nuit d’été de Mendelssohn avec Christopher Plummer en 2001 et Colm Feore en 2014. Pour l’Orchestre symphonique d’Edmonton, elle a assuré avec Jack Everly la coproduction de La belle époque de la radio, un concert Pops de musique des années 1940 qu’ils avaient produit ensemble en 2007 pour l’Orchestre du CNA.

  En 2018, McCoy a fait ses débuts de comédienne à la Salle Southam en jouant son propre rôle dans L’Orchestre de la planète X de la Magic Circle Mime Co. Comme régisseuse, elle a fait un peu de tout : aidé Suzanne et la comtesse à expliquer les subtilités de l’amour conjugal au comte et à Figaro dans Les Noces de Figaro; gardé les yeux ouverts (pour la première fois de sa vie) pendant la scène des singes volants dans le Magicien d’Oz; demandé (par erreur!) à Patrick Watson de montrer une pièce d’identité en coulisses; retenu son souffle devant les prouesses des acrobates du Cirque à Broadway; continué d’exercer son français de la Colombie-Britannique grâce aux conseils des choristes d’Ottawa et acclamé Luke et la princesse Leia avec Charlie Ross, Émilie Fournier et Erik Ochsner dans le cadre du concert Pops Star Wars.

  Dans son temps libre, elle s’occupe du département d’arts, d’anglais, de théâtre et de techniques de documentation au Lisgar Collegiate Institute.
