The radio series En direct de ___. (“Live from ____.”) takes listeners on a half-real, half-imaginary visit to small Canadian communities. Taped in front of a live audience, the show is an artful blend of mockumentary, humour, drama and stories inspired by the host community’s history and current events. It’s up to you to separate fact from fiction, as presented by offbeat news items and larger-than-life characters.

Radio‑Canada arts reporter Julien Morissette and producer David Thibodeau are joined by reporters, musicians and special guests as they explore some of Canada’s lesser-known regions. The first part of today’s episode unfolds in the town of Kapuskasing, Ontario. After a musical interlude featuring guest artists, we’re off to Great Slave Lake, Northwest Territories.
