William’s irresistible baritone, which pays tribute to his late father Ed (himself an acclaimed gospel artist), is like a warm, comforting blanket on a cold Manitoba night. Not surprisingly, William counts Johnny Cash among his greatest musical influences.
A recent alumnus of the tri-annual Planet IndigenUS Music Festival, William was named Aboriginal Artist of the Year at the 2016 Western Canadian Music Awards.
This concert is part of Canada Scene’s free Scene@6 series. Running every evening at 6:00 from July 2 to 23, the series showcases this country’s top folk, roots, world, and jazz artists in the NAC’s new Atrium.
