Through the National Arts Centre’s Young Artist Program, NAC English Theatre is committed to nurturing our country’s cultural ecology by investing in and strengthening the work of emerging artists, with emphasis on diverse representation on Canadian stages. In order to maintain our national reach, we will partner with companies that demonstrate a commitment to exemplary mentorship.

This season NAC English Theatre is proud to partner with Watah Theatre, under the leadership of d’bi young anitafrika, to support Watah in the mentorship of young artists through initiatives such as PADI (The Performing Arts Development Initiative) and TAP (The Transdisciplinary Arts Program). We will collaborate with Watah to create learning opportunities with NAC English Theatre’s activities and associate artists. Over the season, Watah will continue its vital work through numerous projects including a company residency with Crow’s Theatre in Toronto.

The Young Artist Program of NAC English Theatre was developed with the guidance of Artistic Consultant Ravi Jain and 2016-2017 Artistic Associate Christine Brubaker.

Thank you to the Friends of English Theatre for their passion and continued support.
