Toronto born violinist Richard Green began playing the violin at age seven. He was inspired to learn the violin because his father had a wonderful library of classical violin recordings from the 1950-60s including great violinists, Michael Rabin, David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan.
He began lessons with John Ricci in the Toronto School Board and later studied with Irene Haydou and David Zafer at University of Toronto. Richard has been a member of the violin section of NACO since 1974.
