Audience favourite Jon Kimura Parker promises to dazzle with Grieg’s instantly recognizable piano concerto, both breathtakingly powerful and heartbreakingly beautiful.

The Chicago Tribune notes that “Canadian pianist Jon Kimura Parker hastechnical chops to tame the behemoth, and he also has the strength and suppleness of line, variety of touch and generosity of feeling to make many tunes take wing.”Parker joins the NAC Orchestra performing Grieg’s commanding Piano Concerto, a romantic work that will astound you from its commanding opening chords. The concert is paired with Dvořák’s nationalistic Symphony No. 6, led by talented young Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša. Devoted to sharing the sounds of his Czech Republic, Dvořák gained international attention for this work brimming with beautiful melodies and folk songs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: NAC Orchestra Student Open Rehearsals are not open to the public. School groups must register at least 72 hours in advance of the rehearsal.
