One act after another is presented to the rhythm of pop music, and their diverse styles embrace the flamboyance of different eras. And after the party the extravagant characters invite us to take a look backstage.
Almost documentary in style, this evening among transvestites is an honest, playful intrusion into the heart of a domain that treads a delicate path between the ordinary and the spectacular. In mounting this colourful show, Alexandre Fecteau was inspired by testimonials from drag queens. As interactive theatre, Changing Room probes the notion of acting and performance in a world where questions of identity, authenticity and acceptance are implicit.
