Start with the radiant Adagio from Bruckner’s String Quintet, whose inner glow comes from the dark hues of the added viola. In Dvořák’s charming Serenade it’s our strings’ turn to shine. You’ll be enchanted by the waltz in the second movement and a lively Bohemian dance in the finale. Mozart’s divine serenade, “Gran Partita,” is simply glorious—elegant in its inventiveness and a showcase for the rich timbres of our winds.
