Northern Scene celebrates the opening of the newly expanded Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health with a special performance by some of the North’s most dynamic artists at 7:00 pm. Yukon storyteller Sharon Shorty, aka Gramma Susie, is feisty, opinionated, and above all, funny.  She shares the stage with proud Inuvialuit and Dene singer-songwriter Leanne Goose, who’s equally at home with country, blues, and roots.

The evening begins at 5:00 pm with cultural activities including storytelling, games and music. Come hear storyteller Ria Coleman share tales from the North, learn about Arctic games and watch traditional throat singing and drum dancing demonstrations.
