Storytelling has always been at the heart of northern life. From the kitchen table to coffee at the Miners’ Mess, from the excitement of a midnight community dance to an intimate fireside on a nameless northern lake — the telling of stories is what brings northerners together.

Hosted by Yellowknife playwright, actor and director Ben Nind, this evening features some of the finest storytellers from the Northwest Territories. From the captivating pioneer portraits created by Pat Braden to the keen wit of Jim Green; from the Celtic-inspired narratives of Moira Cameron to the heartfelt stories of Ria Coleman; from the colourful stanzas of Anthony Foliot to Scott McQueen’s stories of family adventures in the bush — these virtuoso performers share the spirit of their beloved North.
