When he isn’t writing JUNO Award-winning music, local favourite Ian Tamblyn contributes his musical gifts to projects in the wild world of adventure travel to the North. Who better, then, to host an evening of music that brings south some of the North’s most compelling singer-songwriters?

Kim Beggs has an instantly recognizable voice that blends sweetness and grit. Bold, brilliant, dark and sincere, her unique, rootsy songwriting has been likened to early Neil Young.

Take some old-tyme banjo-picking, add some ghostly harmonies, a little reverb, and some vintage electronics and you have Whitehorse duo Old Time Machine. Ryan McNally and Kyle Cashen create music that is at once familiar and completely original.

Lyrical, satirical, poetic, Dana Sipos is a singer-songwriter who combines a dash of folk, a hint of blues, and a smidgen of soul.
