NAC Violinist Brian Boychuk and his brother Ron Boychuk unveil the latest edition of their greatest cartoon hits

Ottawa (Canada)—Brian and Ron Boychuk are two brothers leading double lives. By day Brian is a violinist with Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra, and Ron is the superintendant at a top-rated Quebec Golf Course, by night they are the creators of a much beloved comic strip called “The Chuckle Bros.”

The comic strip, inspired by Brian’s sense of humour and Ron’s ability to draw, first appeared in 2006.  Now the Chuckle Bros  has been syndicated and appears in more than 40 daily newspapers across North America.

Next Wednesday, the “real” Chuckle Bros, Ottawa’s own Brian and Ron Boychuk will host a book launch at the NAC of their second book,“Return of the Chuckle Bros, The Second Edition Collection.” Media and the public are invited to attend the book launch in the Fountain Room of the National Arts Centre in Ottawa on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 3:30 p.m.

The success of their comic strip is staggering, in 2007 the Chuckle Bros was picked up for U.S. and worldwide syndication by Creators Syndicate out of Los Angeles, and now appears south of the border in a dozen dailies, including The New York Daily News, The Seattle Times and The Chicago Sun-Times.

Both Ron and Brian Boychuk will be available for interviews at the event, or earlier in studio, in person, or by telephone. The NAC is a proud sponsor of their book launch and their creative success.
