March 15, 2016 – OTTAWA (Canada) – “…masterfully blends naturalistic dialogue, poetic lyricism and magic realism. Concord Floral is an ensemble choral piece that packs a theatrical and emotional punch.” NOW Toronto

Concord Floral is an abandoned greenhouse and a hangout for neighbourhood kids. Something happened at that greenhouse. Nobody talks about it – until two girls uncover the horrifying secret. Now havoc has been unleashed, forcing ten teenagers to flee a mysterious plague they’ve brought upon themselves.

Reimaging Giovanni Boccaccio's medieval allegory The Decameron in a contemporary Toronto suburb, one of Canada’s fastest-rising artists, Governor General’s Award-winning playwright Jordan Tannahill, takes us to a surreal and gothic suburbia.

For this highly entertaining tale, Creators/Directors Erin Brubacher and Cara Spooner have brought together a cast made up of ten young actors from different neighbourhoods across the city of Ottawa.

Concord Floral is a supernatural cellphone thriller with alternating kicks of conscience, cruelty, denial and morality.

A companion piece to Concord Floral is This is my room. Look., a series of portraits of our cast members in their real-life bedrooms, all across the city, will be on display outside the NAC Studio.
