Ages 4 and up – Deep in a not-so-distant forest, two small furry animals share a burrow. But one day their happy life falls apart – high treason leads to inevitable separation. With playful means – clowning, shadow theatre, comical noise machines – Terrier explores the movements of friendship. Without others, we aren’t much.
. . . . . .

After many alterations and additions over the years, the den is full of treasures: provisions for the winter, knickknacks and curios that spruce up their cosy space, various small objects that they are proud to show off. One of the animals keeps a meticulous list:

faLL Apples

(40%  = 20 + Zx seeds = 3 litres)

Pebbles (white, medium size, fell out of a pocket)

 123 g + skipping stones = 98 amazing ricochets

(birch branch purée [cut with a knife]) 365 -2#  56

etc. *

While they have different personalities (one is down to earth, the other has her head in the clouds), the cute little creatures are inseparable. They enjoy a rich, peaceful relationship undisturbed by outside forces.

But one day it all falls apart.
HIGH TREASON
…The inevitable separation

The result of a first-ever collaboration between Théâtre du Gros Mécano and Les Incomplètes, Terrier deals with the challenges of friendship and of living together. Is it possible to grow up all by yourself? Does it require an effort to get along with others, to take care of friends and family? How can we surmount even the tiniest conflicts?

In a playful spirit supported by inventive staging – clowning, shadow theatre and comical noise machines – Audrey Marchand and Laurence P. Lafaille start with very little and go on to tackle the very big. From the minuscule burrow to the vast forest, they depict with humour that without others, we aren’t much.
