As a heartfelt thank you to its community, and in tribute to the faithful support of its public, the National Arts Centre Orchestra Players' Association is pleased to announce the annual presentation of its "FanFair" concert and carol sing-along, to take place on Sunday, 15 December, at 12 noon in the main foyer of the NAC. Preceding the concert, the ever loyal Friends of the NAC Orchestra again will be hosting its epic bake sale, with tables opening at 10:45 am.
This year, the players will be joined in this one-hour family-friendly concert by NACO Bursary winner, and violinist phenom, Kerson Leong, young performers from KidSingers and OrKidstra, the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, and special 'guest conductor', Max Keeping! NACO's Music Director, Pinchas Zukerman graciously has engraved his signature upon a brand new whip, to be played and kept as a souvenir, by the silent auction winner, during Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride. Attendees may view the silent auction bid sheet on display at the bake sale table.
Rumour has it that Santa will stop by for a visit to wish children of all ages a happy holiday!
The NAC Orchestra Players' Association, through the generous gifts of its audience members, assists in directing, at the holiday season, much needed funds to its two favourite local charities: namely the Snowsuit Fund and the Ottawa Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable food items and new, or used snowsuits and winter jackets, also are being accepted at FanFair 2013.
We are eager to see you all there for an intimate and festive event, celebrating the peace, joy, and wonder of this magical season.
Come early to assure a seat!
