Four nationally recognized contemporary dance training programs will present their graduating dancers in two exciting performances at the Arts Court Theatre as a part of the 2016 Canada Dance Festival.  This celebratory debut of the next generation of professional contemporary dance artists will feature the work of nationally and internationally renowned choreographers.

The June 5th performance will include: The School of Contemporary Dancers (Winnipeg) with How Hard Does the Earth Hit You... (Darryl Tracey, choreographer) and Rite of Spring (Roger Sinha, choreographer). The School of Dance (Ottawa) with This Dance Has A Memory (Yvonne Coutts, choreographer).

The June 6th performance will include L’École de danse de Québec (Québec) with Body of Water (Peggy Baker, choreographer). The School of Toronto Dance Theatre with the duet from Fjeld (Christopher House, choreographer), excerpt from coalesce (Peggy Baker, choreographer) and Conflicted Resolution (Peter Chin, choreographer).

2016 marks the fifth instalment of the CDF’s national collaboration with Canada’s leading contemporary dance-training institutions, providing professional development opportunities for emerging artists, performances, and masterclasses with established festival participants.
