Ottawa singer/songwriter MYSTARA is pleased to be releasing her debut CD with a live, full-band performance at the NAC Forth Stage this fall.  Her songwriting embraces the flavours of many different genres and cultures to create a special sonic brew, and an exciting listening experience.   A blend of Roots, Soul, and Rock & Roll meet hints of medieval and eastern seasonings, resulting in an interesting and eclectic musical adventure for the audience to enjoy.

In her debut album, entitled Devil’s Paintbrush, MYSTARA explores the theme of strength, and “weathering the storm”.  Her lyrics are inspired by the people she knows, the places she’s been, as well as the hopes and fears, and the ups and downs of an artist’s life.  The album was self-produced by the artist, and recorded at Little Bullhorn Studios with Ottawa-based sound engineer and studio owner, Dave Draves.
