Renee Rosnes is one of the premier jazz pianists and composers of her generation. Her quartet produces glorious, soulful modern jazz that showcases an original and inspired collective voice. The band has been featured twice on NPR’s Live at the Village Vanguard series, and has appeared on festival stages around the world, and in 2003, SOCAN named Renee Composer of the Year. Renee has released 14 albums - winning four JUNO awards - and has appeared on a multitude of other recordings as a sideman. In 1986, Renee relocated from Vancouver, Canada to New York, quickly establishing a reputation as a major talent. Her resume is a veritable who’s who of jazz: Wayne Shorter, JJ Johnson, James Moody, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, Ron Carter, and the all-star octet the SFJAZZ Collective. A critic at The Globe & Mail once wrote, "The instrument was scarcely large enough to contain her imagination" and New York City's Village Voice stated, "She clearly has the world at her fingertips."
