Young Marco is lost in a city in Eastern Europe, far from his parents and his usual points of reference. Next to a rusted old merry-go-round, he meets at first two little ladies who dream of other places, and then an unnerving elderly Italian clown. In either brutal or poetic fashion, each helps Marco discover this strange city where the ravages of a war long ended are still quite present. This is the first Theatre for Young Audiences production by the Théâtre de la Vieille 17 since Le grand voyage de Petit-Rocher, presented at Zones Théâtrales in 2009. Petites Bûches is a fable about distrust of the other, and the role that chance and luck play when travelling. To our great delight, this piece is part of a long tradition of TYA shows by this Franco-Ontarian company.
