NAC’s Youth Dance Connection

The Dance Department formed its first Youth Dance Connection group in 2003. Every year since then, a new group of teens has had the incredible opportunity to gain an in- depth perspective on dance and the performing arts and contribute to building appreciation and interest in dance for a new generation.

The NAC Youth Dance Connection group offers participants:

  • Lively discussion about and exposure to professional theatrical dance that will help deepen an appreciation for the art form;
  • A chance to communicate about one’s personal aesthetics and meet renowned dance artists performing at the NAC;
  • An opportunity to become an “ambassador” for dance in their school;
  • Tickets to a selection of dance performances.

Teachers, recommend a student aged 14 to 17 for the NAC Youth Dance Connection Program. Six students will be chosen. Students will be selected based on their commitment to the arts, leadership skills and curiosity about dance. The group will be made up of students with dance and non-dance backgrounds, males and females, and both Francophones and Anglophones. There is no cost to be part of this program. Tickets are free.
