Popular Montreal contemporary dancer-choreographer José Navas presents Personae — a new solo work performed by Navas himself. Well-known for his fast paced, colourful ensemble works, Personae is the Venezuelan-born artist’s first solo work since 2008, when he created the emotionally moving Miniatures. Exploring “dance for the pleasure of dancing” and showcasing pure, unembellished choreography danced to music by Ravel, Rachmaninoff, Verdi, Vivaldi, Agustín Lara, and Patti Smith, this new compilation of solos is a rare chance to share an intimate evening with such a remarkable performer.
