The song L’arbre est dans ses feuilles popularized by Zachary Richard is now part of our cultural heritage. But for how much longer? What remains from the previous generation? What will we hand down to the next generation? This mordant presentation, at the crossroads of contemporary dramatic trends, features new works from Francophone writers exploring the elements of this traditional song from the viewpoint of transmission. Some twenty Francophone writers, actors and musicians will join forces onstage for this unique event. With its Laboratoires Gestes, the artistic director of the Théâtre du Trillium, Anne-Marie White, presents a multidisciplinary happening where words and music clash and clang together, much to our delight. A big hit at the NAC’s Zones Théâtrales 2013, this piece will go on a national tour of twelve cities during the 2014-15 season.
