William Carn
Juno-nominated Trombonist William Carn has emerged as one of Canada’s leading contemporary jazz composers and performers.  He has performed and recorded with jazz artists such as Rob McConnell, Randy Brecker, David Binney, Kenny Wheeler, Barry Harris, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Mike Murley, Hilario Duran, and Phil Dwyer. He has also been nominated for Trombonist of the Year at the National Jazz Awards in 2004 to 2008.
As well, William leads acclaimed groups Run Stop Run (RSR) and the William Carn Quintet (WCQ).  RSR released their debut self-titled CD in 2012.  Produced by influential saxophonist David Binney, the recording is featured on Binney’s own Mythology Records.  The WCQ debut CD, Other Stories, was nominated for a 2006 Juno Award as Traditional Jazz Album of the Year.
As well, William is a Rath Trombone Artist as well as an instructor for both Humber College and the University of Toronto Jazz Studies program.

Tara Davidson
Toronto’s alto and soprano saxophonist Tara Davidson has performed around the world at such prestigious venues as New York City’s Carnegie Hall, the acclaimed North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, the International Jazz Festival in Lima, Peru, and The Kennedy Center, in Washington, D.C. Davidson has produced five recordings as a leader since 2003 and performed on numerous recordings as a side person. The 2008 JUNO Awards nominated Davidson’s sophomore CD, “Code Breaking”, for “Best Traditional Jazz Album of the Year”.
Davidson’s most significant musical influence has been saxophonist Mike Murley with whom she studied for five years. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Jazz Performance Program where she studied with other prominent Canadian musicians such as Phil Nimmons, Don Thompson, and Kirk MacDonald.
In Fall 2010 Davidson became a member of the faculty at York University in Toronto, ON.

Tim Bedner
Tim received his undergraduate training at Berklee College of Music and a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at Duquesne University. Tim was an adjunct professor of guitar at Duquesne University for 8 years and since relocating to Ottawa has been hired as a performance instructor for jazz guitar at Carleton University, where his is also the founding director of the the Contemporary Guitar Ensemble. Tim teaches privately and gives workshops and is assistant director of the Carleton University Summer Jazz Camp. Tim has performed throughout the mid-Atlantic region of the United States and throughout the Ottawa-Gatineau region. He has shared a stage with artists as diverse as national fingerstyle champion Pat Donohue;
Broadway diva Bernadette Peters; jazz guitarists Lorne Lofsky, Gene
Bertoncini, Roddy Elias, Bill Coon; saxophonist and composer Oliver Lake; Pittsburgh veteran jazz drummer Roger Humphries; George Garzone and John Lockwood of the Fringe.

Jim Doxas
Very much in demand, Montreal drummer Jim Doxas divides his time playing Oliver Jones, Sophie Milman, and the Chet Doxas Quartet. Through the power of his startling invention, he makes the case that percussion can be as performative as a lyrical instrument. What distinguishes Doxas’ approach to improvisation is that he refuses to play it safe, allowing the moment to dictate the kind of framework that will contain, shape and guide the piece under consideration. He is astutely committed to the belief that significant music is always distinguished by what is left unsaid, the gaps of which inspire him to produce a highly original vocabulary of accents.
