Lorraine Pintal trained at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal and launched her acting career in 1972 at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (TNM). As artistic and general director of the TNM for the past 24 years, she has staged over 30 productions for the company. During her tenure she has showcased both classics of the repertoire and works by contemporary Quebec writers, presenting and directing works by such notable artists as Michel Tremblay, Marcel Dubé, Réjean Ducharme, Carole Fréchette and Claude Gauvreau. Throughout her multifaceted creative journey, Bertolt Brecht has played a prominent part.
