Interstellar transmissions
Allô universe ? It’s moi !
In 1977 a Golden Record was launched aboard the Voyager space probe, but what would we place in an interstellar time capsule today to represent humanity? A group of scientists has set itself the limitless task of painting a portrait of the diversity of life on Earth today. Through a series of testimonials, they consider—with a touch of absurd humour—all sorts of existential questions: What is our place in an infinite cosmos? Is there life elsewhere, another potential Earth for us? Why do we feel so alone even though we are surrounded by life?
Get ready: Satellite Théâtre takes you on a breathtaking, unapologetically Monctonian journey. After Overlap, which delighted audiences during the 2021 edition of Zones Théâtrales, Céleste Godin presents a second play in an already distinctive style, reflecting a critical and sensitive view of the world. Using science-fiction-inspired visuals, gimmicks and scale models, the company, a staple at Zones Théâtrales, pulls out all the stops in its most technologically ambitious creation to date. Fear not, its trademark exuberant playfulness is there in full force. Buckle up!
